South Korean online game developer Pearl Abyss just announced the second trailer and new screenshots for its next-gen MMORPG Black Desert Online.
From the Black Desert screenshots, we found the level of detail is a little too high at first glance. Black Desert Online beta in South Korea is scheduled for this year and will officially launch in Europe in 2015. Secret MMORPG Black Desert, developed by Pearl Abyss and published by Daum Communication, held a press conference in Seoul today. The brainchild of developer Pearl Abyss, Black Desert is an open world MMORPG set in a world of diverse biomes and unpredictable weather.
The good news is that versions of Black Desert have been announced both for PC and the next generation of consoles. Pearl Abyss joined hands with Daum Communication to bring Black Desert’s core contents and the latest in-game video as well as the first closed beta test schedule for gamers through this press conference. This game manages to break the restriction of traditional MMORPGs and offers more fun to players. Weather and the seasons are critical in Black Desert, because various extreme conditions can have negative effects on the unprepared, crippling stats or imposing status ailments on players.
Mounts will be absolutely essential in Black Desert's sprawling world, as there's no mechanic for instantaneous travel.
In Black Desert, players are possible to adventure, do business, build house and decorate their houses to make them different. I don't know if Black Desert will actually resonate with gamers or allow it to hit an expanded demographic outside of the typical Korean-MMO grinders.
